Wedding Decor

There are more than enough great wedding decor ideas out there. In fact, there are probably too many. I find myself completely overwhelmed! Every time I think my mind is made up, I stumble across another blog or website that has given me something new to consider. That being said, below are some of my favorites.

From Shannon Elieen's blog, "Happiness Is" - vintage photo mason jars. You can make these yourself; just find a favorite photo and slip it into a vegetable oil-filled mason jar. The oil preserves the photo. She also suggests adding a flower to give it a little something extra. How cute would these be on the table where guests pick up their place cards??

Sign the letter! I think the idea of an actual guest book is out-dated. However, I love the concept of guests signing something that we get to keep, as a memory of the day and the people who attended. This letter would be great hanging up in the bedroom after the wedding day.

Practical, recyclable and this gives me something functional to do with the wine we go through.

Along the same lines...if we start collecting wine corks now, we should definitely have enough!

Le Marche, Italy

I stumbled across this gorgeous part of Italy while browsing the internet, in search of a Honeymoon destination. It's near the Adriatic Coast making it a hop, skip and jump from beach, mountains and....a Prada outlet store.

The Borgo Storico Seghetti Panichi Luxury Hotel looks like Heaven.

Fabulous Idea

How brilliant is this!! I love creative ways to organize, especially my closet.

Lovin' Lilly Pulitzer

For those of you who think Lilly Pulitzer is only for the preppy, vacations in palm beach, southern college football games or horse races…think again. Lilly has something for everyone; black lace dresses, strappy gold heels, ruffled tops, colored straight leg jeans and more. I’m trying to incorporate some color in my wardrobe so that it doesn’t always look like I’m headed to a funeral. I think 95% of my closet is black.

I love this skinny belt. So adorable with dresses and tunics.

This is classic, dress it up or keep it casual. Lace dresses are a must this season.

Lilly has gorgeous fall scarves. I throw scarves over everything from a plain white to a cocktail dress.

Vintage Shopping

While on my vintage/resale shop kick I read about a fabulous vintage home store. Can’t wait to visit! You can find the greatest decor and furniture at antique stores - rt. 1 in Chadds Ford has several great ones to choose from. If you’re a fan of shabby chic, this is where you find the good stuff; white-washed booked shelves, old farm tables, vintage photos in gold frames…

Will Brad Pitt Ever Get An Oscar?

The past few years have shown us a more mature Brad. He escaped the Angelina scandal, injury-free, and with movies like Babel and Benjamin Button, proved that he is more than a pretty face.
While watching Moneyball (phenomenal) I thought, “will this man ever be taken seriously by the Academy?” In the film, while the characters discuss what baseball players to add to the team, one of the scouts mentions a player’s looks, personal life and other irrelevant factors. Is that what the academy does with nominees? Is acting superbly enough to get a nomination, let alone a win?

Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Brad…it makes you wonder. When Phillip Seymour Hoffman beat Joaquin Phoenix or when Alan Arkin beat Eddie Murphy, were those decisions really and solely based on performance? I think if Brad Pitt were less handsome, without Angelina and far less exposed, he’d be staring a little gold statue in his den.

New Music

The new Coldplay album does not disappoint. The duet with Rihanna is fabulous and was a nice surprise. She certainly seems to be popping up on every album these days!

Also, the new Kelly Clarkson is fun, perfect for my new gym mix!

It’s great to buy albums and like them from start to finish. That’s so rare.
