I have been watching One Tree Hill since the very first episode aired. I remember I was a freshman in college and a friend of mine came to my dorm room to watch TV because she didn’t have one. She turned on Gilmore Girls, a show I never watched, and when it ended One Tree Hill came on. I was immediately sucked in. I’m sure Chad Michael Murray was the reason at the time. Anyway, over the first few episodes the show introduced the character, Brooke Davis, played by Sophia Bush. She was and is still my favorite character, probably because I can relate to her. Brooke and I are both sassy, insecure, over-thinkers. It turns out Sophia Bush and I also have a lot in common. Recently I read about Sophia’s fight to help the animals and area affected by the BP Oil Spill, a cause I am very passionate about. I have donated a lot of money to help the animals and the wetlands and I find it amazing that she has actually spent time down South, physically helping remove the oil and help the animals. When researching her efforts, I stumbled across Sophia’s blog. I enjoy reading about her causes whether it be the oil spill or he revolt against Urban Outfitters for selling a t-shirt with the words “eat less” on the front, encouraging girls to be thinner. It is always a pleasure to see someone use their fame for a good cause and Sophia is about as awesome as they come.

Side Note: Two years ago my boyfriend took me to the set of One Tree Hill as my birthday present. We went on the set and saw them film. It was awesome. Later that night we were out a bar in Wilmington, North Carolina and Sophia Bush walks in. She tripped over something and fell into my boyfriend’s arms. I think he could have died happy right then and there.

Jealousy Rears its Ugly Head
Now before you get alarmed you should know that girl crushes are completely, 100% normal. At least that is what I'm telling myself as I drool over Emily Schuman - the writer of the blog Cupcakes and Cashmere (cutest title ever? I think so!)
When I opened up my Facebook newsfeed and saw that my friends Kelly and Amanda had recently added "Cupcakes and Cashmere" to their likes I was extremely curious especially because who doesn't like both of those items. It turned out that it was a blog written by Emily Schuman, a California resident with a love of food and fashion. Her entries focus on style tips, trends, recipes, home decor ideas and she always features a lot of photos, whether they be of her rocking an outfit or a fish she just prepared.
So when I read it I fell in love a little bit..but mostly I just felt a lot of jealousy. Emily used to be an intern at Teen Vogue where she can be seen in the background of season 1 of the Hills. She is gorgeous and blonde. She has a nice clothing allowance (considering designers like Elizabeth and James is in her wardrobe). Most importnaly I am jealous because she is writing a blog...for her job!
So here is my chance - come on people. Read this and make it so I can be a blogger for a living too!

Breakfast at Tiffany's
On a random trip to Best Buy my dad picked up a few movies from the $9.99 bin. When he came home he handed me an assortment of old movies, some he had seen and some he hadn't. As I sifted through them (An American in Paris, Love is a Many-Splendored Thing, Love Story) I spotted a gorgeous brunette woman in a dazzling dress and ultra-chic sunglasses - Breakfast at Tiffany's. This is when my love affair began.
I watched it out of pure curiosity. I had no idea what the story was about, who else was in it, nothing. I had no idea it was based on a Truman Capote novel, that I would later read. All I knew was the lady on the DVD box looked like someone I would love to be.
The story is about a woman, Holly, who is trying to find herself and in the process having a hard time with her identity. Really a small-town girl, Holly has made a life for herself as a city socialite however she has no money. Her personality is full of sass and spice and is the quintessential example for someone who looks together on the outside but is a total mess on the inside. Holly holds in all her frustration and all her sadness in order to portray a woman of class, style and elegance.
It's trendy to like Audrey Hepburn now but years ago it was hard to find memorabilia that featured her. She was an icon both in film and in style but she has never been just a trend to me. To me, she is a rarity in the film world and I have enjoyed every second of her screen time.
Maybe to love Breakfast at Tiffany's you have to relate to it, which I do. Maybe you have to appreciate old movie. But I honestly can't imagine why anyone would dislike it. As soon as the theme song comes on and they show the quiet streets of New York you get this feeling of Old Hollywood and as Audrey struts across the screen in the dress known round the world, every girl falls in love with Ms. Hepburn and good old New York.
